What we did today:
- we compared numbers using <, > and = - played a math game called "Make the Greatest Number", ask me how to play and maybe over the next few days play a game or two - we played a class cooperative game that made us think about using the basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in number sentences using all of the numbers from 1-30. Ask me how successful we were today and what strategies we are going to try tomorrow - we read some more of the book "Wonder" today. How do you think August feels after today's visit to the school? - we started to move our Character Strengths data to a bar graph that Mrs. Secord-Tomlin created for us but we realized we were missing important information on the graph and will try it again tomorrow - we had music Notices: - Admazing Coupon Books: please keep sending the forms in when you have some sales - School Opening Packages: Please complete and return all of the forms by tomorrow Important Dates: - Parent Council Meeting tonight - NO SCHOOL: Friday, September 23rd due to Professional Development Day - Picture Day: Class and Individual on Wednesday, September 28th Odds and Ends: - Thank you to everyone who brought in clean old socks and cloths. We will make fabulous use of them this year.

To play the make the greatest number game. You have to draw a card and then put the number were yo want it. Going up to one hundred thousand. Once each player draws at least 6 times you need to figure out who has made the greatest number.

I think he did not feel very good because he got introduced to some kids without warning. That wouldn't make me feel very good.

I think that August must of felt awkward, nervous, shy, a tiny bit embarrassed and maybe a little angry. He would feel awkward because the two boys just shook his hand and looked down, if I were August I would feel weird. He would feel nervous because these are new kids who are going to be in his school and already don't want to look at him imagine what the whole school will do when they see august. He would feel shy because he has never been to school before and he has only seen his friends and just strangers who stare at him but now he sees kids he who will be in the school with him for the whole year. He would feel embarrassed because they don't want to look at him and they have not even seen him before also its his first time at school. He would feel angry because his mom is making him go to school with kids who don't even want to look at him also that the two boys only shook his hand and looked down without just looking at him and saying hi.
