What we did this week:
- please return signed report card envelopes back to the school after you have looked through the Report Cards. Parent teacher conferences will be in January. If you would like to meet with the teacher before the interviews, please feel free to contact me. - we had buddies today. Along with our buddies, we made gingerbread houses. They should come home today. - we solved how many gifts that we would recieve from our True Love for the 12 Days of Christmas. See if your parents can solve that problem. - during PE, we danced! We will be participating in “fill a sock, fill a need”. We will help bring joy to homeless Calgarians this holiday season. With your help 1200 men and woman will wake up to a stocking by their bedside on Christmas morning. You can help by bringing the following items - socks grades 5/6, tooth brush /tooth paste from grade 3/4, grade 2 will from be collecting deodorant, grade 1 will be collecting lip balm /lip gloss and kindergarten will be collecting hand sanitizer. Please bring all items to Mrs. McKay’s room by Wednesday, December 14th. Thanks for helping to make a difference this holiday season. What we did this week:

Today we started our fantasy stories. - We completed our narrative writing peice that we started while at the Glenbow Museum focusing on the revising and editing phase of the writing process

- we started off the the day by working on our own free verse poem about our class. We will be making our own free-verse poems about ourselves later this week. - today we moved our narative writing about a Medieval Castle scene from the Glenbow Museum from our Visual Journals to Google Docs. Show your parent what your paragraphs look like at this point. We focused on the editing and revising stages of our writing, using COPS for editing and the Strong S's of Writing for revising. What are the Strong S's of Writing? - during PE, we started dancing today. - we read some more of "Wonder" today. Who do you predict is the narrator next? - we did our math quiz on number sense with decimals. Then we did our first Multiplication Mad Minute. Construction Club Message Canstruction Club is looking for non-perishable donations to build our structure next Thursday. It is called the 'Green Cantern’ based on the superhero the Green Lantern. We’re collecting green items such as cans and boxes for this! Please drop off any items to the Idea Lab. Thanks for your support with this. All items will be donated to the Calgary Food Bank after we build our structure. Wish us luck with our contest!
