What we did today:
- after sketching their own ideas of how to set up our class for the best learning. We had a run-off vote to decide which set up we would use and it came down to a tie between Sam's idea and Trenton's. Which plan did we use for our class and how do we feel about our new seating arrangement. - we practiced using the writing skill of "show don't tell" by changing the sentence, "The music was loud", into something that shows us instead of telling us after finishing sharing the rest of our "foggy" sentences from last weekend - we read some more of the book "Wonder", almost finishing August's first day of school - during math we started "addition mad minutes" and graphed our results. We will be keeping track of our results to watch our improvements. Every night, students will be responsible for making their corrections and completing their Mad Minutes. we used Sam's idea. His idea was something like 2, 2 new row 1, 1 new row 2, 2 new row 4 and the same thing on the other side. (2-1-4 = how many people/ desks there are). I think that his idea is going to work really well because like Hannah said some people get to work with people they don't know that well.
